In an effort to streamline the process of non-tax payments for Lagos State residents and businesses, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will officially inaugurate the innovative Lagos Revenue Portal (LRP) on Thursday.
Ogungbo highlighted that the new online platform will make it easier for residents and corporate entities to fulfill
their civic obligations by simplifying the non-tax payment process, making it more efficient, user-friendly, and secure.
He explained that the inauguration of the LRP aligns with the governor’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda, which is focused on improving the quality of life in Lagos. Similar to the e-Tax platform for tax payments managed by the Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), the LRP marks another significant achievement in Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

The LRP is expected to modernize the state’s revenue collection system by consolidating all bills and payments across various ministries, departments, and agencies into one centralized platform. This will make it a convenient one-stop-shop for residents and businesses.
Users will be able to manage and print their bills, as well as make payments online through multiple channels. Ogungbo emphasized that this will eliminate the need for physical visits to service stations or banks, saving time and reducing inconvenience for taxpayers.
The platform also guarantees secure and efficient payment processing, providing instant receipts after successful payments, which can be verified to prevent fraud. The LRP further simplifies the registration process for taxpayers, allowing individuals and businesses to manage their profiles online.
Additionally, the portal enables users to request amendments or reversals of payments, helping to reduce errors and disputes between taxpayers, banks, and government agencies. It also offers a comprehensive view of payment history, allowing users to download their remittance statements and receipts for easy record-keeping.
Available on both web and mobile platforms, the LRP is designed for scalability and secure data handling, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Ogungbo described it as a significant advancement in Lagos State’s revenue collection and administration, aimed at boosting compliance, transparency, and service delivery, ultimately supporting the state’s developmental projects.
As the platform evolves, it is expected to further enhance the state’s revenue administration system. Ogungbo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuously improving the LRP to better serve the needs of citizens and businesses in Lagos.
