The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has introduced a 50% discount for drivers who wish to convert their vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) through the newly launched MY-CNG App. This discount is part of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative’s Conversion Incentive Programme, which was recently launched at NASENI’s CNG Engineering, Training, and Conversion facility in Utako, Abuja.

The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Halilu, highlighted the program’s importance during the launch, emphasizing its role in Nigeria’s ongoing gas revolution. The initiative is particularly aimed at the rideshare sector, including drivers for services like Uber and Bolt. Halilu noted that the conversion to CNG, which is a cleaner and more affordable fuel, could reduce transportation costs by up to 70% and offer 40% savings for car owners.
This program, he explained, is a response to Nigeria’s current economic challenges, offering a practical solution to help reduce the cost of living.
He also praised the collaboration with partners such as Pi-CNG, Portland, and Dana Motors, which made the initiative possible. The launch of the MY-CNG App and the Conversion Incentive Programme showcases NASENI’s commitment to using technology for national development.
