The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has announced that the upcoming edition of its Business Series will focus on building businesses that can endure across generations.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the financial institution disclosed that this edition of the series, themed “Built to Last: Building Generational Business,” is scheduled to take place on Thursday at the UBA House in Marina, Lagos, as well as virtually.
According to the bank, this edition aims to highlight businesses that have successfully stood the test of time, enduring through generations while adapting to various political and economic changes.
UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, Shamsideen Fashola, underscored the significance of this edition of the UBA Business Series in offering a learning platform for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
“This edition provides a platform for SMEs to learn from experienced entrepreneurs who have built and sustained businesses through the decades. Hearing their stories and strategies will be invaluable for any business owner looking to build a lasting enterprise,” Fashola said.

The scheduled speakers for the UBA Business Series include Flora Mutahi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Melvin Marsh International; Atunyota Akpobome, also known as Ali Baba, CEO of XQZMOI Television; Tolani Tayo-Osikoya (Chef T), CEO of Diaryofakitchenlover Studio; and renowned photographer Kelechi Amadi-Obi.
UBA organizes the Business Series as part of its ongoing commitment to support the growth and sustainability of micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises across Africa. The series is a regular seminar and workshop that serves as one of the bank’s capacity-building initiatives, where leading business leaders and professionals share well-researched insights on relevant topics and best practices for running successful businesses, especially in a challenging business environment.
